MLB players seldom bunt these days. It's one of those skills managers are not interested in.

Haters won’t be convinced if they win—will just think they are cheating

But there have been three times when a batter tried to bunt in this series so far and couldn’t lay one down properly—
It might be a less used skill but it IS a skill—just like knowing when to slide feet first vs head first
Some players really can’t slide both ways because they only learn and use one
It creates a weakness in their skill set

They probably won’t admit it—but it is a weakness
And it is something that needs to be learned early on before they are even in AAA
And yes—I know it is considered “old fashioned” and not part of modern ball
But why did 3 players try to bunt and fail if it was not needed?

I would have a hard time voting for him
I think Javier gets my vote—or even Peña—good defense and bat has saved games

If he wins game 6 he will have won 2 of the 4 games. I'd be ok if he got it.

Yep, they usually just want to vent because their own teams don't win.

The moment we finish this off (if we're fortunate enough to) will be the last time I ever discuss 2017 with any haters. My only response will be "rings" (plural).

My take is this…. It will go one of two ways. Supposing rhay the Astros secure this one and perhaps stay relevant for a few years, they’ll have a patriots effect.. meaning they’ll be the hated but “gotta respect the greatness” effect.

Or they lose this and their success stalls out, window closes and they become a background team and MLB textbook pages turn…

Incase you were cushions about what a years difference makes in terms of the media, here you go…
