We live in Sugar Land and are zoned to top notch Fort Bend ISD schools, including Clements High School.

We are considering sending a child to St. Laurence Catholic School through 8th grade. We are parishioners there, love the parish, and instilling the Catholic Faith is important to us.

While it seems like a great school that builds Catholic character that we're looking for, I cannot tell how it compares academically to the really good Fort Bend ISD elementary and middle schools that feed into Clements, especially in the critical STEM subjects.

While we can afford St. Laurence, we would struggle to afford a good Catholic High School, such as Strake, at the moment, since the high schools cost on par with elite private schools. Unless our income increases significantly, we would be looking at Clements anyways.

Would St. Laurence prepare a child for the academic rigors of Clements, or are they better off going through the local Fort Bend ISD schools?
