While on vacation in Moorea several years back I had this traditional Polynesian dish called Poisson Cru. ( basically raw tuna mixed with tomato, onion, cucumber and corn basted in lime juice and coconut milk) It was delicious and addictive. Since Houston is such a diverse port city I figured it wouldn't be hard to locate a place that has it on the menu. However, Google wasn't forthcoming. Can anyone suggest a restaurant that serves it?

I dunno, but that sounds pretty darned good. I did find these:

Recipe: Dave Levy's Tahitian Poisson Cru (Tahitian Tuna Salad) -- chicagotribune.com

Tahitian Tuna (Poisson Cru) Recipe : Recipezaar

Tommy Bahama has a Tahitian Tuna Salad, but it sounds a lot different.

Sounds very similar to poke, a very popular Hawaiian dish. You could maybe try out Alisi's Hawaii near Humble. I know nothing about this restaurant, so I can't recommend it, but it might be close to what you're looking for. There aren't too many authentic Hawaiian/Polynesian restaurants in Houston (or anywhere on the mainland, for that matter).

After Moorea I learned to make a good Mai Tai, so I guess there's no reason I shouldn't just try to make this dish myself. Thanks for the recipes.

Next time I'm across town I'll give Alisi's a try.
