We are moving into our new home next month and we need the backyard sodded as well as some landscaping added to the front (mulching, planting, etc.). The house is located in Katy. Any rec's for good, reasonably priced landscaping companies?

Champion Top Soil, Hwy 6 and I-10. Good prices on mulch, soil, & grass. They deliver for about 30 bucks. Then hire a a few day labor men for $100 a day! You can save a ton of $ that way.

As soon as we moved in, there were tons of cards put on our door! We ended up getting our back yard sodded for 400.00 for 3 pallets installed and 250.00 of raised beds along our fence line (50 feet)- the beds look really good and the grass is doing fine.

Our front was landscaped by the builder (Meritage) and they did a great job- there was really nothing else for us to do to the front.

We are building with Meritage as well. Did you pay extra to have them landscape the front yard?

No, it's included. And they really put a lot in the front. Your trees will be machine-planted, which means they are a good size. Two trees- Live Oak (I think- it at least that's what it looks like) and Bradford Pear in Silver Ranch.

I'd make sure as well that it is a fine company that does not hire illegals.

Thanks for the info! Do they install flower beds?
