Houston is a safe city generally. The better question to ask is what parts of town are typically considered unsafe. As in "dont go there at night" " dont get gas there" for me that would be 5th and 6th ward,greenspoint and parts of Alief Beechnut/Bissonett/Bellaire outside the belt to hwy 6.

Houston is not generally safe. It is rated up there in the crimes.
