My wife and I are selling our house in Memorial Meadows and looking at moving to the West Memorial area (77079). We really like the Nottingham Forest areas, both NF and NF 8, but have found the more desirable listings in our price range to be in NF 8 (west of Dairy Ashford).

Does anyone have thoughts about this particular neighborhood and the differences between NF and NF 8? Looks to me like you get more house for your money in NF8 but there is likely a reason for that. Our plan is to send our kids to private schools so schools are not a huge factor, but I would be curious to know people's thoughts on Meadowood vs. Nottingham as well (if I have that breakdown right).

By the way, if anyone is looking (or know someone who is looking) for something in 77024 (zoned to Bunker Hill), feel free to check out our house on HAR- 12510 Vindon Dr, Houston, TX 77024 - HAR.com

Thanks!

Nottingham 8 has the apartments at the entry and they have had problems there, but they don't spill into the neighborhood. That may be the reason for the discount, as well as it's zoned to Nottingham Elem., which people seem to not care for. But if you are going to private...no worries. As you know, all of Memorial has problems with car break-ins, but that's pretty much the extent of the neighborhood crime. No worse than Vindon, but a lot less traffic.

Meadowood is going to be moved to the Wilchester Elem location while it's rebuilt. Wilchester Elem. is building another "school" in it's parking lot which will first house Wilchester, then Meadowood and then Frostwood, as they all get rebuilt.http://www.hcnonline.com/articles/2009/07/08/memorial_examiner/news/me_sbisd_wilchester.txt (broken link)
