We are moving very soon to Katy area, and we noticed that houses are very affordable in Rosenberg. Is anyone on here familiar with Rosenberg and can give me feedback on their experience with what looks like a great little town? Even the schools look great, but we need input. Thanks.

I'd drive through it before calling it a great little town. The schools are also part of Fort Bend ISD and not Katy ISD, which makes a big difference.

Interviewed there as a teacher, I was extremely impressed with all the staff and administrators there. I ended up taking a job elsewhere but I really wish I had taken the job in Rosenberg. They told me the city is expanding a lot as professionals from Houston find it very affordable. In fact they just got a new high school built.

I live in Sugar Land and I like Richmond/Rosenberg. There is definately a small town feel to it - especially the people. Very friendly.

Where will you be working? The commute to downtown/galleria is better from here than from Katy. And Rosenberg would 10-15 minutes further than Sugar Land.

Actually, they're part of Lamar Consolidated ISD.

I think Rosenberg is part of Lamar Consolidated and Richmond is Fort Bend.

All of Richmond proper is in Lamar Consolidated, although there are some parts of unincorporated Fort Bend County with Richmond mailing addresses located in Fort Bend ISD (but all of this is in Fort Bend County, which only shares a name with the school district).

Fort Bend ISD mostly covers Sugar Land, Missouri City and eastern Fort Bend County.

Correct. The areas with Richmond addresses that are near or inside Hwy 99, with the exception of Greatwood and Riverpark, go to FBISD.

I believe all of Rosenberg goes to LCISD.

To OP: I'm not too familiar at all with Rosenberg. I do love the little downtown Richmond though. Richmond also has so many huge, nice oak trees and a cool state park. If Rosenberg is anything like that, it's probably nice. That's all I know...

I was just at a Houston Association of Realtors luncheon where they stated " Rosenberg is slotted to be the next Sugar Land". New schools, shopping and restaurants moving in and just minutes from Sugar Land.

Rosenberg would be the perfect location for a new Costco! Plenty of space for it and lots of Fort Bend County population to shop there.
