I've never heard that Houston BBQ is better than Central TX BBQ either.

One of my favorites here though is Lulings on Richmond near 610 (just inside the loop near the Galleria). I looove their spicy sausage.

Had my radar set on BBQ.....& ended up on the Htown board for the first time.

Hi folks.

Is Drexler's mom's BBQ joint still around? I'm thinking it would be on the SE side towards Seabrook?

Also isn't there a joint just east of downtown (i think in a house) that's highly thought of?

& Is the Luling BBQ affiliated with Luling City Market (my all time favorite) or just a marketing ploy?

Just got back from our trip. Ended up going to Red River in League City. The brisket was outstanding but the ribs and sausage were merely good. We didn't care much for the potato salad, but the coleslaw and pinto beans were good.... the long neck bottle of shiner for $2.79 . Thanks to all for your recommendations - wish I'd checked City Data while we were down there, we could have tried some of the other, later recommendations.
