Both, me and my wife would be working in DOwntown/ university. But if we go for renting an apartment in inner city loop... there are two problems... finding safe communities and finding exemplary public schools for kids. IS IT POSSIBLE TO FIND Safe neighbourhoods and good public schools in inner city?
Also, please give me suggestions on SAFE apartment buildings in the inner loop which have 3 bedroom or more apartments for renting....How much would be the range for the rent?
thanks

A three bedroom apartment in the inner loop will run you about $2500-$4000.

I looked on HAR.com for residential properties for rent, in zip code 77030 (rice univ/medical center area), 3 bdrms, and $2,500/mo or less. Saw a couple of promising potentials. One older, single-family home is just a few blocks south of Rice U., at $1995/mo. That area is quiet, and pretty safe. The kids would go to Roberts Elementary, a good public school, with lots of international students (their parents work in the med center). One newer townhouse is also same price. There are also several very viable options if you search the same criteria, but for 77005 zip code (west university/rice univ area)

No. There are no safe 3 bedroom apartments inside the loop. Every single one is dangerous and you will be gang raped, mugged, and/or killed.

A tip usually given to students on multiple choice tests is to eliminate the choice with "always" or "never" in the answer, as it has a higher chance of being incorrect. In this case, the option to delete would be "every single one is..."

The houses on the search are single family homes. I think one was a townhouse.

Nice neighborhoods always equal money, inside the loop. For less, you can rent a house in Pearland and the commute would not be bad.

Townhouses "close to the loop" Woodway/Bering area are in a fantastic Elem. School zone, safe, and won't be as expensive as ITL, but still just under 2000 for a three bedroom.

^^^^^ nice & safe looking TH's for lease over there. Funny, I got LOST in Briargrove this weekend & ended up on some dead end roads in the back of Briagrove (single family expensive homes) and came across Woodway Gardens TH's and saw a leasing office. Around the corner from Woodway Gardens were some very high end TH's but they looked to be individually owned. I'd feel safe over there. Briargrove is zoned to a good elem school.

Unlike many Cites, the Down town part of Houston, is the newest. New condos everywhere. New clubs and Bars. Inside the 610 loop is the eye of the Hurricane. all the hustle and bussle just goes on around the loop. Nice and quiet inside of it. Very little traffic problems. I favor the Heights, but that is just me.
