Holy crap! Whole house just shook....felt like old times in Ca. with the earthquakes! Huge loud "BOOM".
Shelter in place....looking back towards 146...huge blume of black smoke coming up the canal. Emergency e-mails from Seabrook tell me it is an explosion an the American Acrylic Plant.

Wow, that one looks bigger than the explosion we had yesterday in Port Arthur. What's up with all these bombs going off??? Texas City, Port Arthur, now Shoreacres(ish). Hopefully no one is hurt.

Seabrook is closer to the chemical plants than a lot of people realize. Today's northerly wind probably blew those particles right over the town.

We're a few miles from it....but still shook the house big time. My cable is now out and we still have a shelter in place. Just saw my house on KHOU.com photos! First 2 or 3 on the lake. Helicopter must have taken them.

Seabrook shelter in place has been lifted... as well as the shelter in place for the CCISD schools.

I hadn't left for work yet, that explosion was crazy... whole house shook... like Shelby only a mile or two south of the plant. Can't wait to find out all the lovely things I've been breathing in for the past 2 hours.

Yeah, just got the e-mail shelter in place lifted.
LIH, look at the pics on KHOU website...the neighborhood is shown, turn for turn.
Got a headache like you can't believe, but haven't been outside and the air nor heat have gone on.
