It's more properly called The Park Shops at Houston Center. It seems nowadays that they want to be called The Shops at Houston Center.
Thanks. I'll be sure to call it that next time!

Macy's (Houston Downtown) : 1110 Main Street, Houston, Texas :: Glass Steel and Stone

Never been in there but I have been in the basement where they used to have their discount center about 25 years ago.
Wow - that is interesting Houston trivia - I never knew that.

However, I guess we must take into account how crappy overall commercial RE market is now nationally. There's also Houston Center (which a lot of people don't know about) but whether or not that counts as a full-fledged retail spot is up to debate.
This is because of the recession. The Pavilions opened up at the wrong time. Still, I think it'll work out. It's crowded on the weekends. I was last there on Friday night after a Rockets game. The other stores will fill in as the economy gets better.

I know. It will take time. I actually have plans to visit this weekend. (Not saying which venue for privacy's sake)

No. I think starting at the 6th floor, it's off limits to customers.

Didn't know about the apartments up top and the bunker in the basement. It's too bad they don't allow tours of the bunker....I'd like to see it.

I've read that the store occupied the whole building when it was a Foley's. I guess they downsized the store when it became a Macy's.

Wow - looks great, hopefully if they attempt that, they can get the people needed to support it to come downtown. The problem with Houston being so spread out is that everyone can find everything they need (pretty much) on their side of town. I know people in their 20's who get lost if they leave their areas because they simply never do.
