Okay, so I finally decided to move to Houston and finish grad school along with the C.P.A. exam. I'd like to know if southwest houston is pretty nice area. Many texans where I've stayed when I visit, tell me to stay away from Galveston and southeast Houston. I'm coming one last time to secure my lease options in the area of 77077 and job opportunities. I've checked out any activity at night that goes on at several potiential apartments and they seemed cool. Yet you can only learn so much from just visiting. Does anyone have suggestions on nice areas, schools, entertainment, and transportation. Any kind of advice on Houston would be beneficial to me at this point. Thanks

Stick to zip codes 77079,77077, 77056,77063,77042 (upper part), 77027,77024 for SW Houston. Where is your job located?

Oops - just read the part in your post about looking for job opportunities. Let me re-phrase - what type of job? If you wind up getting a job off 290 or Sugar Land - SW Houston may not be the best - it's definately not the cheapest.

Are you going to attend The University of Houston? You don't want to live too far away from there.
