Anyone know of any MDO programs inside the Loop? I know there's one in Rice Village but I was hoping to find something closer, i.e. Montrose, the Heights, Galleria, Midtown, and preferably one that is not religiously affiliated and is willing to take an infant for an hour or two on a couple days' notice.

The MDO programs that I know are on tuition base and many of them have wait lists. St. Andrews Presbyterian, School for Little Children are a few that come to mind. Many of the churches on Bellaire Blvd offer some sort of child care.

If you only want occasional hourly drop off take a look at Let us Play on S. Rice and It's Playtime on Sunset.

Most MDO programs I know of are affiliated with protestant churches. Also, many MDOs have specific set days and times, for example Tues/Thurs. 9am to 1 pm.
If you need something more like a drop-in daycare you could try Bright Horizons.

I agree with PP: a MDO program isn't going to take a child on a drop-in basis. MDOs have set schedules. I used It's Playtime on Sunset once about three years ago for my 3 year old. You can check out their website.

Great, thanks for the recommendations for It's Playtime and Let's Play. I had heard of one in Rice Village but couldn't recall the name. Was hoping for something closer, but this could do. Ideally I'd find a sitter who could come by every now and then, but haven't found one yet.
