Interesting that they are expanding the outlet mall in front of Fairfield. Houston Premium Outlets to add dozens more stores | Business | Chron.com - Houston Chronicle

Does anyone know how the mall has impacted the neighborhood? I know people were worried when they were opening the mall, but I suspect it isn't as bad as some expected.

I have a good friend in Fairfield & she doesn't mention it bothering her. Don't these malls usually get worn down in a decade like the one up I-10 that's closed down now? Then there's the one on 45 close to Galveston that's falling apart.

I'd give it a thumbs down for my neighborhood personally.

It's convenient shopping in my opinion and better yet you don't even have to mess with traffic.

It's way to far out and not much around there.

Really is it is 1/2 mile past Fairfield so I do not see how it really helps the neighborhood all that much

Since this is an upscale outlet mall with more of the name brand kind of stuff, I bet it has longer staying power than some of the older ones that have gone downhill.

I was there today. Great mall with a lot of stores that I like. I usually do my shopping at the Galleria since I live down the street from it but I couldn't pass up the deals that you can only find at Outlets.
