We're looking in the S. Katy area, and kids are getting hung up about all the amenities in Cinco Ranch (waterparks, pools, etc). We're planning on having our own pool, so we won't be using them every day. But I also heard taxes are cheaper in other subdivisions, so where else should I look? Our budget is around 300K.

Even if we're not a CR resident, can we pay to use the waterpark etc?

If you are dead set on having your own pool, the amenities at Cinco may be of no concern to you, may want to pick a different neighborhood. My family LOVES Cinco for the many pools to choose from. We all have our favorites, and they love running into friends from school, church, etc... In my family's case we wouldn't get as much enjoyment of having our own pool... too lonely. But that's just us.

You cannot pay to attend Cinco pools. They are maintained by funds from the HOA. You can go as a guest of another resident though. Lifetime Fitness and the YMCA have pools though, so if you are so inclined you could get a gym membership at either place to use their pool.

Best of luck...

Hi all ! Looking for feedback on this question. We are moving to Houston from California and I have two daughters, 11 and 13. I am really focused on finding a neighborhood that is filled with lots of kids and will help my girls find friends easily. I am hoping Cinco Ranch is the right track. Are the kids out this way nice ? friendly? cliquish ? Any feedback is appreciated !
Thanks - P

Hey P,

Wondering what you ever found out. Did you move there, if so how do you like it? How are the kids, do they like it? Looking at possibly moving to the area at the end of this school year. Would welcome any and all feedback. Thanks
