Hello,

We are moving to Barboursville, WV from out of state in a month. It looks like there are not a lot of good internet options. It sounds like for our home, the only providers are Suddenlink and Frontier. Att&t, Comcast, Hugh's net, Time Warner cable, etc. does not provide service there. It looks like of Suddenlink vs. Frontier we should go with Suddenlink. It sounds like outages or slow speeds are somewhat common? I'm thinking I should have a broadband mobile device as a back up if the internet is down when I really need it for work. I haven't looked into coverage options for providers for that. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I know for a fact that Comcast does provide internet in Huntington so it should in Barboursville too.

My parents live in Lesage and have Frontier. Have almost no problem with outages or slow speeds (for DSL). So Barboursville, you should be more than fine with Frontier should you choose to go that route. And as Pynball said, Comcast should be available as well if you want to deal with their usual BS

I use Frontier DSL and have only had problems with outages 1 or 2 times in the 7 years I've used it. We recently increased the speed and we've been happy with it. It shouldn't be much of an issue unless you are needing insanely high speeds. Hope you find what you are looking for an welcome to the Huntington Area! Let us know if there's anything else we can help you with.

What is the cost of the internet? Also, cable, telephone, can you tell me how much that runs, approx.?

Am looking to moving in that area, still checking out that area and possibly Ohio but don't want Buckeye for heating.

I am a Suddenlink customer and I do not have problems of any type with their internet. I do not live in the Barboursville area but I haven't heard/seen many complaints.

I would not go to the expense of a broadband mobile device until I have tried Suddenlink to determine if it is necessary.

My monthly bill is $162 for internet, phone, and TV. For TV, I subscribe to basic, extended basic, and the sports tier.
