Wrong picture and some wrong stats (pop. is actually 49,185) in the article but the right place.

Well, we all know how much stock we can put in a rating
made by a group that can't get it's picture or facts right.
Either the rater has never been to West Virginia or he/she
is relying totally on travel brochures. That is definitely
not Huntington portrayed there. Nothing against Huntington,
understand, but they clearly have their facts wrong.

That's a picture of downtown Charlie West, and the waterfront.

Yeah, I think they meant to say Charleston was the best
place to raise a kid, but didn't know enough about the State
to really know of which they were speaking. Anyway, kudos
to Huntington for getting a positive ranking. It can't hurt to
have nice things said in such a venue about any place in the
state.

I like how they said "Closest city is Charleston" in the article. It makes it sound like Huntington is a suburb of Charleston or something. Why even mention Charleston? Then i see Charleston also finished runner up in WV. LOL

I went through and checked other cities. They use a pic from "Nearest city" category. That's why it's a pic of Charleston.

No CT I'm pretty sure that Huntington was meant to receive the rating as listed since, as Silk pointed out, Charleston came in second and it listed Charleston as the closest city. Maybe I can send them an actual picture of Huntington to fix things. I have to say though, I agree with this ranking. This is a great place to grow up and to raise kids as well. So much for them to do here with the parks and all of the various programs available for kids.

It's nice that they can be positively ranked in something. Congrats
to Huntington. That's a whole lot better than last year's fattest
town crap... whoever came up with that bull$hit. Let's keep the
good stuff coming!

Good stuff, indeed! I have to say that the very best "Ambassador" and positive information that is out there about the great state of West Virginia is Gov. Joe Manchin! Whatever else you might say about him, he is WV's best advertisement..he is on our local news more than our own Gov. Martin O'Malley. If there is anything noteworthy happening in WV..he is there!

That's because his specialty is getting in front of a camera. He spends a lot more time doing that than he does solving the State's problems.
