I live in the city limits, and need to know who is responsible for picking them up. They are bagged. I know that they are not supposed to go in the green garbage can (as that is for household items). I am just wondering who is responsible for picking them up?

You can set the bags on the curb and they will pick them up.

The bagged ones get picked up on trash day. Also tree branch clippings less than 5ft long curb pickup on trash day. Loose mounds (fall leaves) get picked up (vacuum) once a month for 3-4 months beginning Nov. (?) per city's posted schedule.

Leave 'em at the curb. If its a whole lot of bags (I had dozens once), it will take a little while but eventually a big truck with a hydrolic arm comes and snaps 'em up.

It may take some time. Mine were out there for a month. I called the number, and they only do my area once a month for that stuff.

Rather than bag, mulch the clippings into your lawn. Better for your lawn and better for the landfill.

Compost 'em. They make good compost and are easy to take care of. Save your money and the environment. If you're not the gardening type, you could probably have no problem giving it away on gardeners' forums. Good luck.

ok, so the bags are STILL there.... 2 small bags (my husband says he is about to just put them in the green can- he says if it is the truck that comes by with the arm- who is to know what is in the can...) I told my husband not to do it... Our mailing address is Owens Cross Roads. However we are right off Taylor Road, we have cable, and Hsv utilities, Huntsville city taxes, and Hsv garbage can-still considered part of Huntsville. Do they really only pick this stuff up once a month? When I look online at the city information- I cant seem to find a schedule, for grass clippings, and who to contact about grass clippings not getting picked up...
