Just read on the front page of the local paper (a weekly) that Fayetteville, TN city gubment announced that trick-or-treat will be celebrated Saturday evening in Fayetteville.

Huh.

Since our neighborhood isn't big on the holiday (this street will be dark, but for me) we were going to take daughter to the mall, like we did last year.
(I had no kids at the door in 2009, and only two grandkids of the neighbor's the year before.)
Only, I've discovered that all the local businesses did Halloween last week or yesterday, soooo, I guess we'll be driving her to a nearby neighborhood that does know what day it is. Sigh.

Don't know about everybody else but our neighborhood (Holiday Homes in SW Huntsville) was slammed with trick or treaters last night. This is an older neighborhood with lots of empty nests and I haven't seen a Halloween turnout like that in many years. Someone even bothered to do a haunted house on my block. I was happy to see so many families out with their kids. And unlike years past, there were very few over-age type "kids" with no costumes coming to the door. Very promising Halloween after several years of interest being almost nil.

Blossomwood was hopping from the time the sun went down. Seemed to be 2x as many kids as the past several years.

Same here, we went out with our 3 kids plus our 2 nephews and their parents joined us. We walked a LOT more than in the past and got a bunch of houses. We left a big bowl out front with candy and it was all gone when we came back, and we still had people coming. All of the older kids we saw were with younger kids or at least really dressed up. We were very happy
