Does anyone know anything about a company called Kyvest, Ltd that builds houses? I can't find anything online but they built the house I'm in the process of buying back in 2002 and I'm trying to get some history on them. Has anyone ever heard of them or know about the quality of their homes?

My husband has been in the Huntsville building trades for 25 + years. He said he did not deal with this builder, but thought they might be a customer of Wilson Lumber. Perhaps someone there could help you with the information you are seeking.

They are not BBB accredited -if that's an indication of anything.

I found this post

from "ToneyTiger"

Just wanted to add my 2 cents in..... I personally do NOT like HOA's as there is no guarantee that the Homeowner fees will remain at any certain level. As I experienced in Florida, I was paying $270.03 per month and we were still getting hit with annual increases as well as 2-3 "special assessments" whenever the funds ran low or the board wanted to do something. We all had to have the same paint scheme on our houses with no color choice, making our houses look like clones of each other. We were not allowed to plant flowers, shrubs, or trees without prior approval from the board. We were not allowed to let children play on the grass or put a pool on the grass of any size. We were allowed to decorate our exterior house during the holidays, but were not allowed to place lawn ornaments out. If a neighbor complained our holiday lights were too bright, we were asked to take them down(I had to do that the last year we lived there...I had 4 net lights on my bushes and about 5 or 6 100 bulb string lights along the frame of the house). I really got tired of the BS and finally had to move here where I can plant what I want, change the color scheme of my house(NOT to purple or green!), or enjoy my own property! Keep in mind that just because a clause is not in the documents when you move in does not mean it can't be added later....this is what happened to me....my HOA in Florida wanted to become a place for seniors only, but they couldn't discriminate on age so they just implemented rules to keep younger folk discouraged from buying....I am MUCH happier in Toney, and my builder was Stuart Trapp/Kyvest Ltd(The Landings on Pulaski Pike) and I am VERY happy with him. Hope I helped a little bit also!!! Take care!!!

Hey Allandall! Actually BCM has already PMed me on the 24th and I sent them a PM back. But just to put it out there, I was very satisfied with the quality of the house. The only problem I had with the house was a few ceiling nail pops here and there, but considering I purchased the house while they were still working on it and gave it no settling time, I expected this. It took me about 3-5 minutes to take care of it myself and I'm good with that kind of stuff so I never called the builder. One nice upgrade in his houses that I viewed was rounded corners. I was a bit concerned that I would find problems with these over time, but after 3 and a half years of living in the house, I haven't had the first problem with any of them. If anyone has any questions for me about them, feel free to contact me at any time. Take care!!
