Probably a dumb question, but does anyone know approximately how many miles away from the arsenal a house would need to be located to avoid any window-rattling effects from activities there?

Nearly a decade ago, we sustained damage to a previous house due to blasting (for site prep) within our neighborhood. I'd just as soon not go through that again when we retire to HSV.

Thanks.

I think all of the test sites are south of Martin road if that helps. The EOD school moved or is moving so that might help quiet things down??? My old office was SE on the Arsenal near the Wam-Mart on S. PKWY and crazy-loud noises were common......and very annoying!

Yeah South Parkway has always been worse than Martin Rd.

I Live off of Zierdt and I honestly haven't heard anything lately, perhaps I have been in HSV when things were going off.

But there have been times were the windows all shook more than once!

I actually wish we were a little closer (but not toooo close ). I grew up in Vermont near where there was a test range for the Vulcans and other ordinance, and always felt reassured by it.
