McDonalds being built next to Hardee's, Lawlers BBQ being built just north of the big white church at Meridianville Bottom Rd. and Raceway being built where the old boot store/strip joint was. I also heard from a reliable source that Hazel Green will be getting a Walmart Express but it may be as much as three years.

and still a primitive road system by aldont with no plans or solution.
Pathetic.
They have a chance to build an interstate style interchange at Bob Wade where the the raceway is going
which would tie in with Research Park, but no they will delay, postpone as long as possible which will be forever. Instead add another traffic light and maybe a half ass turn lane.
aldont holding Huntsville and Madison County hostage.

I agree AU, I think the 255 extension would do wonders for the Meridianville/HG area. Now I'm thinking I may not even see it in my lifetime.

As I drive into town daily for work, I fantasize about there being a third lane put in. With the exception of the bottleneck near the Liberty 2000 in "old" Meridianville, which could be fixed by raising some old buildings, the only other bottleneck on the way in is the cuts in the hill before you descend to the Winchester Rd area.

I would prefer there not be a Walmart in HG, but any development might spur the area into having apartments. I'd like to go back to apartment living, but I really like living in Hazel Green.

I noticed this morning they are clearing a lot next to Windmill Beverages. Anyone know what is going in there?

Saw them lower the big blue gas tank into the ground at the Racetrack where the old boot place used to be yesterday. And they're digging the basement of the McD's near Hardee's currently.

(For those who have never been inside the non-customer area of a McD's, every building has a basement the same size as the upper floor that's storage. It's pretty freaky how much room they have.)

I never knew that about McD's . They don't seem to be making much progress on the Lawler's.
