FARNBOROUGH – Governor Robert Bentley on Tuesday announced Science and Engineering Services LLC (SES) expects to add 450 jobs in Huntsville over the next five years as part of a nearly $70 million expansion of its Alabama manufacturing operations.

SES to Create 450 jobs with Expansion of Huntsville Manufacturing Operations - Office of the Governor of Alabama

No doubt the majority of these jobs will require security clearances.....*sigh*

Not a huge deal on the clearance..... if you meet the other qualifications a lot of companies will pay for your clearance. I didn't have one when I started this job but now I do.

Where are thses jobs coming from?

SES is a contracting firm in engineering services so they "place" people with clients, who create the job openings. Like many firms here, they are a glorified employment agency.

They seem to have a lot of manufacturing space for just being an employment agency.

You are absolutely INCORRECT. Many full time engineers, technicians, mechanics, fabricators, program managers, purchasers, etc. working programs and modifying aircraft in house that SES is the prime on.

My apology as the name SES sounds too much like a job shop. More better if they have steady work in contract manufacturing.

Definitely not an employment agency. As my first job out of college SES has been a good place to work so far.

So you made the statement about them being a glorified employment agency based solely on how their name sounds???

SES received a government contract in 2013 for $45 million. It involved "CONVERSION OF ARMY UH-60L BLACK HAWK HELICOPTERS TO AIR FORCE HH-60G HELICOPTERS". I don't know where that work is being done.

I wonder if SES may be getting similar type work from Redstone Arsenal?

Thats pretty cool that the Gov went to the Farnborough Intl. Air Show. Seems like a good way to drum up business.

Also, SES is a really good company. I'm USG and have coordinated Black Hawk upgrade/conversions and they employ highly skilled labor.
