Will be interesting to see how this goes. Personally, I think it's silly to go way out into rural farmland Limestone Co to build a "faux" urban area. I don't think there is enough demand in the market for this type of development. Lendon in Jones Valley isn't exactly breaking any sales records and it's a similar concept.

I am interested to see how it goes too. I hope it will do well after everything they have put into it.

The Village of Providence is definitely in a much more prime location however this new development off of Browns Ferry will be Madison City Schools which are much better than the schools Village of Providence is zoned for. That might help a lot.

I don't get it either. I don't know very many people that actually thought Lendon was gong to go very well other than a few sales agents and the developer. I'm not one that would be in the target market for a development like that though, there isn't anything at all that appeals to me about Providence. There is zero chance I would ever live in a development like that.

It's a decent location - Not that far from County Line Road which is building up pretty rapidly.

As you say, I think the Madison city school system is the big attraction.

Just wondering, does anybody know the size of the commercial core of Providence? I think Oakland Springs will be 15 acres.

When Providence was going in, it was kind of out there too. But now you would never think that. Time marches on and the same will happen with everything along the 72W and Browns Ferry western development.

Not really. There was that huge apartment complex right beside it.

Not to mention the West Ridge subdivision whose sign at US 72 and the former Indian Creek Road was appropriated by Providence.

I don't see any restaurants out there surviving, at least not for another 5 years if things ever get built up around there. Restaurants can't even stay open on County Line and the population is a lot bigger in that area.
