My cwp expired 3/1 but prior to that I put in to have it renewed. 3 days after submitting the forms, I was called and told my permit has been renewed. I haven't had time to go and get it, until today at lunch. I was able to leave Research Park, go to the new location to pick up my permit - have my picture taken and license issued, pick up lunch at PoBoy Factory, and get back to work in 45 minutes... I was just one of 8 that were at the license pick up office and am very impressed with the speed of getting that done so quickly... Nicely done, ladies!... Thank you!
Oh and that Spicy Sausage PoBoy was off the hook delicious!

TUMF, you should call or email a supervisor at that office and commend those ladies. I'd bet that most comments are complaints in that kind of office. In a thankless job like that, it really can mean a lot to have your good work and effort acknowledged.

Now, about that PoBoy....

Pretty soon, you may not need a permit to concealed carry in AL. They are moving SB24, the "constitutional carry" bill through the committees.

You'll till need a paper copy of permit when you carry out of State.

Ditto here in Morgan County. Plus, the ladies that usually take care of the process have the same dry humor that I have and we usually have several good belly laughs during the process.

They were also against open carry and the latest concealed carry law with 5 year permits and that all passed easily. I don't really know why they are against it anyway, criminals are who they are concerned about and criminals do not care whether or not they have a permit. I really don't think that not requiring permits will change who carries concealed weapons. The only thing it will change is the ability to charge someone for carrying a weapon without a permit.

The new location to pick up your permit is located right next to the jail - at 603 Fiber St NW, Huntsville, AL 35801.
They are open Monday thru Friday from 8am until 4pm - holidays excluded.
