I ask this question for my fellow Limestone County residents

Today I drove all the way to Athens to pay for my tags because I can't find any satellite offices closer. The satellite office near the old Kroger is for Madison County residents only. The one on base at the Arsenal is always crowded.

BTW, I found out today the "special tag" I got last year cost an extra $50/ year in tag fee guess I was not paying attention last year when I got it.

Looking online it appears Athens is the only place.

You can pay online (with a processing fee), otherwise Athens is your only choice.

Yup, all plates other than the God Bless and standard blue/green/yellow one are $50+ a year. Depending on the plate you got, that $50 may be tax deductible...

And many of those include a personalized plate at no additional charge.

I renewed my tags online last year and the previous year. They do add a nominal surcharge to getting your new sticker via the internet, but it beats waiting in line and driving all over the county trying to find an open office.

Yup, which is usually extra in many states. If you're going to pay for a speciality plate, you may as well get it personalized!

I've mailed my money in and gotten my new decals by mail for the past couple of years. It costs an extra dollar but saves me having to go to the durn courthouse.
