Guinea wasps (or paper wasp) hurt the most.

Black wasps cause the most swelling.
Yellow jackets do surprise group attacks.
Red wasps are just the butt holes of the insect world.

I've never been hit by a bald face hornet, but they scare me the most.

I think this sums up my feelings on our local stingers.

That pretty much sums it up. lol

Guinnea wasps are the yellow and black ones I mentioned. They definitely hurt more for whatever reason.

I haven't been hit by a hornet either but from what I hear from those that have, they say they fly into you like they are trying to knock you down and the sting hurts far worse than a wasp.

I recently purchased a property where the previous owner had mounted cameras around the eaves of the house and had cut a hole about the size of a half dollar in the vinyl to run the coax back to the recorder. Needless to say the attic was infested with what I believe was the Guinnea wasps. Had to call a pest control to spray and dust the attic. He told me he saw four nests about 6-8 inches diameter, and that was just along the front eave of the house. He wasn't able (or willing) to get back to the other sides. That's when he decided to just dust the attic. I have since removed the cameras and taped over the holes in the eaves. Hopefully they will die off over the winter.
