So there is word that the local production builder and Madison County Commissioner Craig Hill have come together to charge residents of the builders HOA additional fees to have 24/7 access. to the Nature Trail. No body else in the county but them. Highly suspicious.

HOA Member Survey: Info in the description below
RE: Potential For Full Nature Trail Access For Members

A possible membership for private entrance to the nature trail has been offered by the county to all members of the Inspiration/Preserve/Estates HOA. This membership will allow access to the nature trail via a members swipe card (the same card that allows access to the pool and gym). This will allow members to access the nature trail 365 days a year 24 hours a day.

Craig Hill, Madison County Commissioner has recommended this for full access to any HOA member at a cost of $25 per owner. The revenue generated from the $25 cost will only go directly to the Nature Trail to pay for maintenance and other associated costs that are much needed.

IMPORTANT: This opportunity is only available as an entire HOA. Memberships will not be offered directly to individuals. The Board will be voting on this item in the coming weeks.

This survey will close on May 7th.

Isn't Green Mountain already free? Why would anyone vote to pay for access when they can currently access it at no cost?

Sounds like it's to restrict access to only members of the specified neighborhood HOAs. Who owns the land the nature trail is on?

Park is open 7 a to 5 p. This would be for 24 hr access for certain people. County owns the park

Why would you need 24 hour access to a nature trail on a mountain? Wouldn't it be dangerous to be roaming around after dark? Are there recreational facilities there?

If this were still the 80s, the obvious answer would be Satan worship. Still could be.
The county wants to raise revenue, probably for maintenance costs for the park. They’re offering the rich devil worshipers the opportunity to access the park after hours without worrying about the Baptist peasants disturbing their naked dancing and pig blood orgies. As long as they don’t sacrifice anything larger than a rat, I’m fine with it.

Sounds like a good idea. I'd like it if I lived up there. What would people use it for? Early morning pre-work jogs. Evening exercise and night social gatherings (at the deck area). Fishing at dusk or dawn when the days are long. Night observation hikes for scout troops.

I don't see people going there at 3 am, but I can see lots of uses outside regular operating hours for those who get to enjoy the place living so close.

Not a bad idea, but if the residents adjoining the park can pay for extended access, anybody should be able to.

It's a county park, not an extension of the Inspiration/Preserve/Estates HOA.

The proposal seems to be open to anybody with $25 to spare....
