I browsed through the homes for sale and I noticed all of them have only 2 car garage. Why not incorporate a 3-car garage into design? Most of us use a part of garage for workshop and/or storage, a 3-car garage will be popular.

Our house has a 3 car garage and it was built in 2019. I love having the extra space for my workshop.

Many times it's because the lots are too small and the houses too large especially on newer homes.

Friend, at some point you have to build your own home in order for it to have all the features you want.

Also, zillow + its ilk all have keyword searches. Just be sure and remove the price filter.

You do realize that the area was basically rural until recently? When a shop or storage was needed, an outbuilding was constructed or modified. In rural areas where fire departments may be slow arriving, it is far better to have a shed burn than a shop AND your cars or horses and buggies. BTW, that still holds, but people want convenience now. Personally, I find three car garages much more ugly than even some of the worst worn down houses. They reek of entitlement and excess (unless they hold farm equipment).

I came to Huntsville in 1966 and it wasn't rural then. Not sure what you consider "recently" Harry.

There are a number of houses in Lake Forest that have 3-car garages, and I've even seen 4-car garages there. My neighborhood, Edgewater, just has houses with 2-car as far as I know, but most of the houses are 25-35 years old. Mine has a 2 car garage with an attached workshop that I had added into the plans.

Remember that I'm a history buff. Anything after the close of the railroad to the top of Monte Sano is recent to me.

I've got a 3 car garage. House built 2012. Middle class $300K home. Most of my neighborhood has them.

Very true. My community is a PUD - Planned Unit Development - with small lots and fairly large homes. My house barely fits on the lot, and side entry garages are required. My lot is 1/3 acre, and with the house, flower beds, and concrete for the driveway and sidewalks, I only have about 5,000 sq ft of grass. The HOA doesn't allow detached structures.
