Hello. We are moving to the Huntsville area in mid May. I'm coming out with my rv and will work find housing while my hubby ties up any loose ends here in odessa Texas.

I'm looking for an rv park. I'm going to be working at huntsville hospital. I have a 2017 31 ft travel trailer.

I know a co-worker who had spent a considerable amount of time at the Space & Rocket Center RV park. I know another who had parked on base at Redstone. I don't know if they are good or bad. Lastly, there is Ditto Landing, just off the river.

Monte Sano State Park might be a nice option.

We RV a lot, so we're familiar with all of the local parks.

How far are you willing to travel?

Here is a list in order from closest to furthest distance (with our personal observations):

Space & Rocket Center ~ 5 miles (has 30A service only, sewer, and laundry. No cable, no 50A service option) - small park, can hear noise from the interstate, but a nice park
Monte Sano campground ~ 6 miles (has 30A and 50A service, sewer, and laundry. No cable) - beautiful scenery, but you do have to go up and down the mountain. Could be an issue in freezing temps
Ditto Landing campground ~ 12 miles (has 30A and 50A service. unknown on sewer, laundry, or cable) Can flood if the river rises too much
Sharon Johnston park ~ 18 miles ( has 50A service, water, sewer, and laundry. no cable) - secluded park, very quiet, but far away from most everything

There are others a little further out (Woodville, Guntersville, etc...) that we normally stay at. Those are really nice, but the drive to work would be a bit longer.

Really, North Alabama could use several more RV parks. Our state parks are fabulous and most offer RV camping. There are also several RV parks which are privately-owned or owned by county or city governments.
Most are not going to be smack in the middle of town but on the outskirts ore away from town. I'm sure Woodall's will list them all. I don't know of any that aren't really nice.

There are actually quite a lot of RV parks in all of North Alabama, and actually quite a few within an hr drive of Huntsville. Just not sure how far the OP is willing to drive.

Madison County (Huntsville & Madison area): HSV City: Ditto Landing, Space & Rocket Center, Monte Sano, Redstone Arsenal MWR, Sharon Johnston Park (New Market)

Jackson County (Woodville, Scottsboro area): (Woodville) Parnell's RV, Cathedral Cavern State Park (Woodville), (Scottsboro) Jackson County Park, (Scottsboro) Goosepond Resort, (Hollywood)Bellefonte RV Park,

Marshall County (Guntersville, Langston, Albertville, Arab, Boaz area): Siebold Campground (between Scottsboro and Guntersville), River Ridge Campground (Langston), Windemere Cove (Langston), Eagle's Landing (Langston), Mountain Lakes (Langston), Little Mountain Marina (Langston), South Sauty Creek Resort (Langston), Blue Heron RV Resort (Guntersville), Honeycomb (Guntersville), Georgia Mtn RV Resort (Guntersville), Hidden Valley RV Park (Guntersville), Guntersville State Park (Guntersville), Fisherman's Rest RV Park (Guntersville), Lake Guntersville RV Park (Guntersville), Simpson's Little Creek RV Park (Arab), Sand Mountain Park & Amphitheater (Albertville), Buck's Pocket State Park (split between Marshall, Jackson, and DeKalb counties)

Morgan County (Decatur, Hartselle, Priceville, Somerville area): KV's RV Park (Hartselle), Jay Landings Marina & RV Resort (Decatur), Point Mallard campground (Decatur), Decatur/Wheeler Lake KOA (Hillsboro),

Limestone County (Athens, Rogersville, Tanner area): Poplar Point Lakeside RV Park (Athens), Cowford Campground (Athens), T's Outback RV Park (Athens), Joe Wheeler State Park (Rogersville)

If you want to step out to <2 hrs away you can also include:

Cullman County (Cullman/Smith Lake (Arley) area): Smith Lake campground, Speegles Marina & Campground (Smith Lake), Smith Lake RV & Cabin Resort, Hidden Cove RV Resort (Arley), Clear Creek (Arley), Lakeshore Cabins & RV (Arley),

DeKalb County (Ft. Payne, Mentone area): Little River RV Park (Ft. Payne), Desoto State Park (Ft. Payne), Wills Creek RV Park (Ft. Payne), Tranquility RV Campground (Mentone), 1776 RV & Campground (Mentone), Thunder Canyon (Ider),

Cherokee County (Weiss Lake/Leesburg area): Big Oak Campground, Lee's Cove RV Park, Riverside Campground, C&C Campground, Driftwood Family Campground, Chapman's Campground, Weiss Lake RV Park, Bay Springs Campground, Pruett's Lakeside campground, Joyland RV Park, Chestnut Bay

Etowah County (Gadsden/Rainbow City area): The Cove RV Resort (Gadsden), Noccalula Falls Park (Gadsden), River Rocks Landing (Gadsden),

There are way more than I can type...

Our favorite local campgrounds are GoosePond or Little Mountain Marina (our #1 spot). A little further out and we love DeSoto State Park and River Rocks Landing in Gadsden. We bounce around between those places during the warmer months, but we will typically set up for a month or two at Little Mountain every year. I'm dewinterizing next weekend and taking it over to Little Mtn for a few weeks.
