I live in Madison, and for a long list of reasons I called the Madison Utilities office the other day to have my water pressure tested. They said it was 75psi at the fire hydrant, 70 psi at the back end of the meter, but only 30 or so at one of my outdoor faucets.

Has anyone else had issues with their water pressure?

You might have an issue with your pressure regulator. Sometimes it's next to the meter, sometimes next to where the water enters your house. Maybe just hire a plumber to find it and test/replace it.

Yea, sounds like your pressure regulator is bad. Any plumber can change it, expect to pay around $400ish to have it replaced. I just had mine replaced and it's an insane difference in pressure.

Are you on a slab or a crawl space? We had an issue for years on the outside faucet next to our garage. I could turn the faucet on full and stop the full flow of water coming out of the hose. It turned out to be a split copper pipe located in the foundation wall and a cracked CPVC pipe connected to the copper pipe. When the water was turned on, water sprayed out of the connection but for some reason, the split copper pipe wasn't leaking at all. I replaced the faucet entirely and a section of the CPVC pipe and new fittings. It hasn't leaked since then and I did the repair work around 5 months ago. Now we have full pressure with no issues.

My pressure regulator is under my house, in the crawlspace.

Have you had any issues with leaks because of the higher water pressure?

Nope, just when they install the new regulator make sure they don't go above 70 PSI, I had them put mine at 65 PSI and everything works great now.
