Today, Huntsville is a modern city thanks to the space program and to BRAC; it is also a city of the future. Because Huntsville is so modern and is big enough to have a theme park, do you think it can actually support one (regarding the economy; in general).

Isn't the Space and Rocket Center sort of a mini-theme park in that there are G-Force type things (rides?) people can strap into like a ride and there are exhibits and that sort of thing? I've never been to it but I drive by it every day and there is this tower thing I've seen people being lifted on.

I've heard that people are trying to get more space-themed exhibits / rides at the ASRC - hoping for corporate sponsorships from 'Star Trek' and 'Star Wars' and other space scifi series / movies.

If Huntsville was to get a park, I think it should be a Six Flags or anything that's not on Alabama Adventure's scale! Six Flags Space Adventure, Six Flags Space Mountain, or Six Flags Space Kingdom

That's how we know you're not from the Huntsville area. All schoolchildren by law (I wouldn't be surprised anyway) MUST take one field trip per school year to the space and rocket center.

I doubt it will be a Six Flags park....

Six Flags may have to raise white flag (Dealscape)

Huntsville is relatively well-off compared to the rest of Alabama. It could work.

Why do you say that?

Somebody came up with that idea many years ago...in the 1960s. I think they sold some shares. I believe the guy was from Hartselle. When the thing didn't happen, he had to give the money back.

Not like today!
