Hello everyone!

My husband and I are relocating from the Chicago area to Huntsville in May. We are moving to the Paddock Club apartments and I just found out that the nearest elementary school is Providence.

Anyhow, can someone give me more information about the school? I have read some reviews that have totally made me worry about my daughter going here.

We currently live in the Chicago suburbs and the school she currently attends is the best school she has ever been to and I am sad to see her have to transfer.

Anyway, am I being overly paranoid when I worry about the school being K-8? Do they keep the small ones separated from the older ones? I, myself went to a K-8 school when I was younger and the older kids tended to pick on the smaller kids. I just feel weird lol.

Also, I noticed that Monrovia was also only 5 minutes away by car. Does my daughter have to go to providence or can she also go to Monrovia? I'm not sure how it all works regarding the zoning and all that.

Anyhow, any input would be greatly appreciated. I wanna stop worrying LOL.

Monrovia is a county school. Providence is a city school. Those are two different schools systems. I'm not sure what it would take to get enrolled in a county school while living in the city. Are you planning on living in the paddock club apartments long term? Have you signed a lease there already?

Are you going to be living there indefinitely?
Will you be buying a home as a permanent residence?

This area (Northern Alabama) is really strict about school attendance zones. If you move from the apartment to a home in another school zone then your kid will have to change schools.

Also, you wrote "nearest school is Providence". Are you sure those apartments are zoned to Providence? Just because Providence is the closest school, doesn't mean that is the school you are zoned to.

You are providence if these are the apartments you will be renting.

LOL, oh geez, I am clueless when it comes to county and city schools so I have no idea what you mean. Here things work differently. I'm not sure exactly how long we will live in these apartments, but I know at least 6 months because my husband is in the army, getting stationed in Ft Meade, MD for a short tour, and we are not allowed to accompany him. That's why we are not buying a house yet. I am already going to go to Huntsville without him because his next job will be there and his family lives there.

We will be buying a home later on. OK, so basically then, my daughter will have to go to the school within a certain zone? I think that is definitely Providence.

Oh boy, I'm not too happy. LOL

Yes, those are it.

So does anyone have any positive information for this school so that I won't continue to focus on the negative that I have read?
