I felt that I needed to initiate a thread that would inform individuals about colleges in a city that doesn't host such a big college life. The only college that offers a college life is A&M because it hosts sports venues and other college activities and venues.

UAH and Oakwood don't host sports venues and other college activities and venues?

So what you're saying is that this thread is pointless because the colleges in this town (aside from A&M) do not offer "college life and other college activities and venues." You might as well start a thread talking about Huntsville's NFL franchise or Birmingham's bid for the Olympics.

Last I checked, UAH has a Division I hockey program, and Division II baseball, soccer, softball (national runner-ups this year), basketball, track, tennis, etc. UAH regularly hosts concerts and has a very active Greek system. So what does A&M offer that UAH doesn't? UAH may not be Bama or Auburn when it comes to "college life," but it has definitely become more traditional in that sense over the last decade. And no, I'm not a UAH alum.

I would say that each university has a different sort of college life. Here at Athens State, we used to have some pretty good softball teams, but they closed down our sports program. Now we have alternatives to THAT type of college life...there are groups of all sorts from major-related to religion-based fellowships, plus the student government, newspaper, and local events. It may not be what everyone looks for, but it certainly is college life.

Well tc, from my understanding, Huntsville is not a college town, but that doesn't mean the colleges that are there doesn't offer the traditional college motif or whatever it is you're looking for.

It could be worse though.

A&M should have a lot of activities to do because it is an "Agriculture & Machinery" school.

Playing with dirt should be a 2nd nature for its graduates

You make a good point. College life is more than just sports activities.

Of course where I went to school, the student union will have free concerts on Friday afternoon (a way to get us to buy more beer). The life of partying, drinking, rallying (we were into all types of rebellions against 'the establishment'), flirting & dating built a strong foundation of life long social & communication skills.
