How is it that most people hired at these manufacture plants in North Alabama are mostly illegals with fake documents. No wonder Alabama is not hurting as the rest of the nation. Hope some of these plants are on the presidents list to be audited for their i-9 forms and we can get more jobs for AMERICAN citizens.

I'll mention that to my buds back in LA. Maybe they can use some illegal aliens out there too.

Is this just an out of the blue comment, or did you have some experience (personal? news? evidence?) that sparked this off?

I heard a news (radio) article about 1.5 years ago from dairy workers in Vermont. They said that if it weren't for illegals, that the dairy industry there would shut down.
I have personally observed that south Florida would stop in their tracks without the illegal gardeners and people doing all the work no one else wants to.
I am not saying that hiring illegal works is the best thing to do, but there is always a flip side to it. I also have heard that many people in foreign countries are not coming to the US anymore because there aren't as many jobs to be had (this was an interview with folks in Mexico).
I have also known auto workers that were laid off who refused to take a pay cut and work 'menial' jobs. There are always more sides to issues such as this.

sorry, any "side" that involves the word --illegal--doesn't deserve to be heard.

As milledj points out, our bizarro economy requires illegal workers to be able to afford food, shelter and clothing at affordable prices. (Interesting it's exactly these industries the illegals work in). If we hired US workers to do these jobs then we'd have to pay more. One reason healthcare is getting so expensive is we can't hire illegal aliens to be our doctors. The current system is clearly unsustainable.

Yup. There are no shortage of jobs, just the people who're willing to work it.

I've seen these 'illegals' (I don't know if they are) building houses in my subdivision. They work in 100 deg F heat with 99% humidity ALL DAY. I have not trouble with anyone, illegals or not, who has this type of work ethics. I have friends who are 'legal' (still white on where the sun don't shine, and what's left of blond hairs) that work construction in Arizona, but I don't see them here in Alabama. I have the same respect for them as well.

I honestly don't blame them. If I lived in Mexico I'd probably try to get into the states by whatever means I could too.

Could you name some of those manufacture plants? I worked in a factory in local Huntsville before. 90%+ of the workers are black. Are they illegals too?

That's a good question. Was their ancestors issued an I-94 form when they were imported as slaves back then?
