What's up with Cheeburger Cheeburger location in the Village of Providence ?

Every night that I've passed by over the last week, there have been no lights on at the restaurant.

Has it closed ?

Not wanting to hijack the thread, but Tenders! in 5 Points as well- passed by couple times at reasonable evening hours (6-7P), and it looked dark from the outside (unless they remodeled with dim lights and tinted windows), the parking lot is empty too. Went online, it indicates that location is still open.

I'd be surprised, that Tenders is slammed at lunch everyday. Maybe they are taking a couple slower nights off, was it early in the week? Will have to check it out.

I just called the Whitesburg restaurant and spoke with a guy who was transferred from the Providence restaurant. Basically he said, the Providence restaurant wasn't making money. He also said they had parking lot "issues". (Ever notice nobody has problems anymore? They have "issues".) He said the same guy owned three Cheeburger restaurants, one in Madison that closed a couple years ago, the Providence one and the Whitesburg one. So there's only one left.

BTW the owners of Cheeburger Cheeburger transitioned from the military contractor world to the restaurant industry. Nice people. Sorry to hear that their expansion didn't make it.

The biggest problem or "issue" with Cheeburger Cheeburger was the price. They had very good burgers and fries and even better shakes. However, when your prices reflect that of Chili's, for example, a family of four has a hard time justifying paying that much for burger's when they can go to Steak n Shake cheaper or just McDonald's.

As for the Madison location that closed several years ago, the location next to Kroger wasn't too helpful. When you are fighting for parking between the Kroger and the Applebee's the little guy is going to lose out. Especially when you go up against an Applebee's with bigger variety and same prices.

I'm sure Five Guys didn't help their business any.

I hear the owners of Cheeburger are opening some new joint over behind that super target off 72 or something -- forget the name / gimmick of it
