10aCDT/11aEST 14Sept2017: disturbance (Invest 97E) S of Baja California has become Tropical Storm Norma. Winds 40mph, moving North 5mph, pressure 1004mb. Likely to make landfall as a hurricane into Baja California and/or Western Mexico. May affect Socorro island as well.

Official storm stat/updates are issued from the US National Hurricane Center (NHC) at 4 & 10am/pm CDT (5 & 11am/pm EST) (will add updates at 1 & 10 a/pCDT (2 & 8EST) once Watches/Warnings issued) here: National Hurricane Center
