In the course of changing out brake lamps, I dropped into a black hole one of the 10mm (wrench/socket size) nuts that secure the entire tail light assy.

By any metric chart, a 10 mm nut is an M6-1.0. So I went to Napa and got a couple of M6 flange type nuts. Lo and behold, they are slightly too big for the threaded stud they go on. Is this some oddball size nut I have to get at a Hyundai dealer? Thanks to anyone who knows.

(I cant find any parts breakdown online that calls out these nuts so I can identify size or part no.)

Just take one of the other one's off and go to a good hardware store to match it up.
