In search of places to visit/camp this summer. This area looks decent - I wouldn't want to be too close to CdA - and this area north/south of I-90 when traveling east looks very promising.

Does anyone have experience with this area?

Hi Alaska, we've met over on the MT forum. When planning your trip, include St. Maries, too. Kellogg is pretty close to CdA, and growing. However, I know the area north of I-90 (between Hwy 200 and 2) much better than the I-90 corridor, so if you want to extend your plans to include that region, I can chime in with some ideas.

Correction: Kellogg isn't as close to CdA as I thought I remembered!

That corridor is lovely...but most of No Idaho is lovely and full of great places to visit and camp, so me thinks you'll find a lot of options and no doubt plenty of suggestions from the folks here on the forum. I am relatively new to the area so I don't have as much insight as the rest

Alaska, are you looking for developed campgrounds, or primitive? There is a lot of great country between Pinehurst/Kingston and the MT border that is beautiful. If you're looking for a developed spot, there are a lot of campgrounds along the N. Fork of the CDA river, which is N. of Kingston, just west of Pinehurst. For primitive spots, the sky's the limits, you have a lot of forest service roads to explore. What kind of rig are you camping from?
