We're a husband and wife (no kids) seeking to network with others for employment. We currently live in the northeastern US, but we're looking to relocate out West. Idaho is one of our target areas--preferably either southeastern Idaho or northern Idaho. We've spent plenty of time in both areas in the past.

Basically, we do not want to move somewhere prior to finding employment. There are many different places out West we'd be happy living. Our final choice will be solely dependent on where we find work. We've tried submitting resumes to Idaho ads on job sites, but we never hear anything back. It's difficult for us at the moment to repeatedly take job-hunting vacations to various locations, so we were hoping to network with some people first.

In the past, one of us has worked in various capacities in the financial industry (so bank jobs would be great, for example), and the other has had a wide variety of jobs including upper-level management, hospital business offices, radio, etc. We'd both consider a very wide variety of employment.

We look forward to getting to know some of you.

This isn't really a jobs forum...at least the Idaho section isn't...but if anyone has any networking resources or links they can list here that would be appreciated...

This is a right to work state. So even if you get a job you do not have a job if they want to fire you they can. Nothing worse than not having a new job you thought you had and you moved. Be careful Idaho tends to send people limping back to where they came from....

You're not going to have much luck networking online in Idaho coming from other states. There are too many people here who need jobs or want to advance their careers that networking is pretty much a personal, face to face thing (even if they still take advantage of social networking online).

Idaho is, above all, a very insular state. We're not too keen on more people moving here making everything more expensive and competitive where there is barely enough to go around as it is. I'm not trying to discourage you from moving here; rather I'm suggesting you need to put in the same time and effort as the rest of us rather than relying on internet strangers to hook you up.
