I live in Washington where it's 90 rain and/or gloom. I was wondering if Coeur d' Alene was the same? How is it in comparison to Washington weather wise?

We get a crapload of rain and dark clouds...and lots of freezing cold and snow in the winter.

Default Coeur d'Alene weather

I only lived there for a year but from what I head there was nothing unusual about the weather we experienced. The winters are damn long and yes they have days that turn in to weeks with either dark clouds and no sun or white clouds with no sun. The roads are not maintained as they should be in the winter so in our neighborhood as well as some family members we had ice for months.
As far as rain goes, it did rain often but never hard it was like a on and off again very light rain, to be honest with you I would have enjoyed some hard rains to clean the streets.
I think the fall was the best time of year with all the beautiful trees turning yellow and orange it is great. Spring has lots of wind, rain and clouds. I know that this last June is was cloudy for the first couple weeks, very depressing. The summer was humid which if you are from WA I am sure you are used to. It is a beautiful area with much to offer but the weather was not for me at all. I need the sun to shine many more days of the year than the average 180 that CDA gets.
There is a place for everyone I know some people that just loved the stormy weather and others hated it, I guess it's whatever floats your boat

Good luck!

Well, I don't agree with all the weather info stated above. We get our first snow anywhere from around Halloween to mid-Dec. You never know year to year how heavy or light a winter will be. Generally it will snow, stick around for a bit, rain, melt or partially melt, then snow again. I have also seen years where it snowed and snowed and din't melt until March or April. The temp in the winter is generally in the 30's, can get higher than that and can certainly get lower. Spring starts like in March. We usually get a lot of rain from March until late June/early July. This last spring and summer were unusually warm. Summer is from July into Sept. Fall Sept until into Oct. We have very little humidity period. We do not get as much rain as western WA, but get more snow. Summers are nice. The highways and main roads are well kept in the winter. If you have snow you will have ice, whether you plow or not, so yes, roads can be icy.
