Hi everyone,

My fiance and I are looking for someplace in Idaho to settle down after we are married this year. We are looking for a smaller or mid-sized town (neither of us like living in big cities). We want someplace with a low cost of living and where we will be able to find an affordable house to buy and while we will be depending on his internet business for the bulk of our income, we'll probably both work at least part time too, so we'll need to be able to find jobs. We'd also like someplace fairly safe and with a low crime rate.

We'd like someplace where it doesn't get super hot or humid in the summer, I can handle the winter cold and snow but I hate the summer heat. We are both Catholic, so someplace with a Catholic church is a must. Because most of our income comes from an internet business, dependable high speed internet is also a must.

Someplace with lots of access to outdoors activities would also be nice, for instance we both love to fish so someplace with good fishing nearby would be awesome.

Is there anyplace in Idaho you can think of that fits at least most of this? Thank you so much!

Welcome to C-D and the Idaho forum! Do a search on Coeur d'Alene (CdA) here in this forum and the stats page at the top of the C-D menu, and read up on as much as you can. I think you'll find it has most of what you're looking for. And if CdA is too big for you, take a look at Sandpoint.

Are you planning to have children?

This may reflect how you choose a town with good schools.

There is nothing but small and medium sized towns in Idaho. Only Boise can be considered 'big city', and it's not all that big.
Small can be tiny. 100 people can comprise a town here.

CdA is also not too far from Spokane if you need bigger city amenities from time to time. North Idaho is so beautiful!!!!
