It appears that we are approved for a loan to buy a house, but that they will need one paycheck from the new job before pushing the loan through. The problem is that we are moving from Kansas with 4 of our 5 children and 2 dogs. We would only need a place to stay temporarily, but every place I'm finding wants a 6-12 month lease and if they allow pets they up your cost by $300. Is anyone familiar with someone who allows month to month renting? We're looking in the CDA and Northern area. My husband & I are coming up this weekend to job and house search and would like to possibly connect with some land lords.

Some of the property management companies I found on-line also had furnished vacation rentals but they would probably be very expensive.

Personally I am planning on renting a house for at least a year and use that time to recon the neighborhoods I can afford so I can find the "right" one. Moving two more times and renting for another year won't be great but probably worth it to me.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

It's funny you mention this now because we saw a posting on craigslist that we really wanted except they only wanted month to month and I want a long term rental instead.

https://spokane.craigslist.org/apa/4436264342.html

It's in Hayden, has 1 acre of land but it's sort of a weird lot in that it's a long sliver. It's in what appears to be a very nice neighborhood.

memofive- I don't know if they can help but check out ABC Properties in Post Falls. They worked with us for a short term rental.

BG79--I know that house. The property has a large back yard but part of the acre slopes down a hill. It is a nice neighborhood.

We have had to do short term rentals several times in the CDA area - while building, moving in and out and back in to the area, etc. We have never had a problem doing this. Landlords and property managements may not advertise this kind of availability, but it is very worth your while to explain why you need a short term rental. Someone will work with you...
