At least 2 feet here...and it's still coming. This is very inconvenient, coming right before Christmas. I wish it would quit.

8:45am - We have less than a foot here in Sandpoint, but still coming down (until 4pm, they say). Our big problems are cold temps and very icy roads. Forecasts call for a break on Saturday (sunshine, whatever that is), with a new front arriving Sunday. I guarantee a White Christmas!

We're at about 18-20". After plowing, I already have 4-5' piles everywhere...and it's still coming down hard.

We went to visit a friend who came to Spokane for business. Barely got into downtown (took 2 hours to get there, then another hour on the horrible city streets that were all unplowed). Went to the Davenport and walked to the mall for dinner and shopping. BARELY got out (that's with studded tires, too) and it was THREE HOURS to go 85 miles home. I-90 was unplowed until the ID state line. From there home wasn't too bad. My buddy is stuck at the Davenport (there are worse places to be stuck, eh?), and his PM flight tonight was also canceled. So his flight is tomorrow night IF HE'S LUCKY.

My office manager is supposed to fly out tomorrow at 5AM for NJ...I doubt she can get to the airport...I-90 was closed last night completely west of Spokane, and it can only get worse.

My kids plowed us out last night while we were gone (nice surprise when we came home). I plowed for almost 2 hours this AM, and I'll have to do it again at about 4PM to get UPS in here for our daily pickup. Maybe again at midnight so we're not as bad off tomorrow AM too.

I was hoping for less snow than last year...now I'm not feeling so good about it...

30"-35" of new snow since last night just N. of Athol, and it is still coming down now! We haven't started to dig out yet, we are going to wait until it stops snowing (I hope it stops!)

Notice the solar panels are covered with snow but the Wildblue dish is carefully swept off. We've got our priorities straight.

Envy x 2. Not so, for my car, though. Hmm... a rhyme.

My car's a Southern, low elevation car, to put it lightly. Glad to not be there in that sense, 'cause I panicked when it snowed an inch and didn't melt by the morning here in Albuquerque. I miss the snowy walks, but not the need for them with a tight schedule.

And yes, godspeed.

Wow.....not 10 minutes after my 12:55PM post, my daughter calls with bad news.

She was driving one of my employees home, up one of those steep "bobsled run" driveways with about 1500' of switchbacks, and it's only plowed about 8-9' wide. She got my Suburban stuck in the uphill-side ditch (good thing since the otherside is a steep drop if you bust through the berm).

So I went and shoveled for 3 1/2 hours, until I found a neighbor with a New Holland tractor (big one...80hp 4wd) and even then it took 90 minutes of tugging and turning to get the Suburban pulled out.

I am just exhausted. I think I shoveled the equivalent amount of snow as the whole mass of my Suburban...crazy...

Oh...and my first thought was "my daughter got the car stuck since she's a teen driver" (even though I taught her to drive LAST winter in the horrible storms).

But one of my helping buddies got HIS 4wd truck stuck 200' further DOWN the hill than my daughter did...so she actually had gotten pretty far before losing it.

But I have serious "tractor envy"...so MRR....I now hate you even more...
