Why can't others appreciate their hard work? Why?

Quote:
Reagan once said on the radio that he often wondered about "the illegal alien fuss. Are great numbers of our unemployed really victims of the illegal alien invasion, or are those illegal tourists actually doing work our own people won't do? One thing is certain in this hungry world: No regulation or law should be allowed if it results in crops rotting in the fields for lack of harvesters."

Because Americans deserve said jobs-----------not a bunch of illegal alien losers.

Face it: in this nasty recession; those 'jobs that Americans won't do' look real good to especially people whose unemployment ran out.

This was all before the 20 million illegal Mexican invasion. Obviously Reagan would have seen the fraud and lying that turned an amnesty for a few million illegals into a much bigger amnesty. He would have also seen that the promise to secure the border and enforce immigration laws was not kept either. So Reagan would have realized that his amnesty was a BIG mistake.

Roguer, don't confuse the opposition with the obvious. It ruins their ability to live in the past rather than see what their beliefs will produce for all of us,including their children...

Yep the flood of illegals really got bad when Reagan was Pres. I think he the american people wrong and it makes me sick to see people talk about what a great job he did.NOT he opened the flood gate and didnt want to enforce the immigration laws. Bush was worse.

Maybe. Or MAYBE Reagan favored a free market economy. You know--let the low skills jobs be done by ambitious people willing to do the job for the least wages. Regardless of whether they were born in the U.S. or 500 miles south of the U.S. Maybe THAT was what Ronnie had in mind.

Try again. One hallmark of almost any First World society is strict immigration control with no birthright citizenship unless at least one parent is a citizen of said nation. Otherwise the uneducated bottom feeders do indeed drag down wages. Remember that low wage people tend to be a net liability due to strains on societal infrastructure.

Is that guy still around? That sounds so 80s. Back when there were something like an estimated 300,000 illegals here.

Maybe it's like water for your yard. A little is okay but you don't need 10 feet to of water to destroy everything. A few illegals picking lettuce might be okay but 35 million with many of them laying around on welfare handouts of some kind or another aren't good.

I dunno. I just don't think that is what President Reagan had in mind when he said this--especially the bolded portions:
