After the voters spoke and passed prop #187, the courts esentially ruled against it.
The final death blow came from former governor Gray Davis.
The bill had been dead since, and now, more than ever it is time to once again put it too the people with the stipulation it can not be adjucated in the courts.
The people spoke loud and clear on the bill by voting for it.
The people now MUST speak again on this issue and make sure the courts can not intervene with the majority's decree.
Bob.

I think you live in California, right? Do you honestly think that after all the boycotts\ anger toward Arizona that California would shoot itself in the foot? Not the best timing, my friend!

With immigration the hot button item around the country, this is prime time to get this measure back on the ballot.
There will never be a better time.

Do you have any idea what the hispanic population is in California? Have you noticed that the mayor of Phoenix & the city councils in Arizona's largest cities are condemning the law? That the conservative governors of Nevada & Texas have condemned the law? California votes 70% Democratic. Now what are the odds that such a law would pass in California?

Have you noticed that the majority of Americans favor the law? Have you noticed that the majority of Americans feel that Illegals need to be held accountable?
Have you noticed that its the minority of Americans who feel illegals are anything but a burden?

What part of "reality" don't you understand? I know the issue is stirring up a lot of interest but it is basically a "hot potato" that political leaders are reluctant to do anything about. And California is probably the last state willing to take on this issue again. You must think in terms of power & not poll numbers.

The reality is, the people have had enough, and not only will they show it in the voting booth but, may well take it to the streets and the battlezone if necessary.
I predict a civil war on this issue within the next year.
Bob.

Yeah, the voting booth thing doesn't work anymore. We passed 187 and nothing happened.

I'm not sure about civil war, but when you pass laws and then the government refuses to enforce them, what are you supposed to do? Voting no longer has the power it was supposed to.

You vote the incumbant out of office and keep voting them out until they get a clue.
