Apaches did indeed live in AZ. They still do. They were in my area as early as the 1400's.
And the descendants of the Apaches are U.S. citizens with all the rights that any other citizen has. The reason this conversation got started is because someone said in view of the Arizona law that it was "ironic" that the Apaches were indigenous to Arizona. I asked what the irony was and he never answered.
I deleted that, I'd probably get in trouble for it...
