Well, no one asked them to cross the state border into our state. As far as I'm concerned, you're an invader if you come from anywhere else and move here. For them, it's a temporary situation, so they don't contribute any tax monies. They pay taxes back where they come from, even while they're down here, but we get bupkes.
As I posted earlier, they have an open invitation and most likely always will. As long as they have a job with no questions asked they will come. They have been here since the beginning of time. Who do you think built the railroad? If every undocumented guest were to leave who would do their work? What would the price of produce climb to? There are many answers. If big business were to invest in machines that replace them there would be more jobs for everyone. It's somehow OK to automate to replace American workers and do nothing for the ones that are taken advantage of.
Invaders that have been given an open invitation by refusing to go after the ones that invite them.
Uh, the employers that supposedly invite them have been gone after. Do you not recall the many workplace raids that have occured? Many of them have been jailed and fined for hiring illegal aliens also.
E-verify would go after the rest of them but the pro-illegals fight workplace verification tooth and nail because although they claim they want the employers caught they want their illegal workers left alone and it would be a deterrant to hiring anymore illegals. Doesn't work that way and they know it.
As long as you agree to take out their garbage and clean their toilets for less than minimum wage you will be welcome. Enjoy your stay.
I was actually thinking more along the lines of 15 or so an hour under the table like most in the construction industry around here get. And yes, they do get that much.
Around here they get just about as much as the workers they displaced in actual wages........what they don't get and so the employer saves is FICA or any others taxes witheld nor any type of workers comp or unemployment benefits. They are paid off the books and use the local emergency rooms for anything medical, they all get WIC for the kids and have literally destroyed a local apartment complex that used to be beautiful, the place now looks like the war zone pics on the nightly news. I can't go in any local WalMart and deal with the hoards of them harrassing everyone else. Their kids all get ESL classes and free breakfast and lunch in the schools and they all drive much newer big trucks than most of the locals do. A local fast food place that used to be known for hiring the handicapped fired them all and replaced them with all Mexicans.........my family won't eat there anymore.
