I don't see how you can call a child a derogatory name, when it may not've been their choice - as a child - to come to this country. What're they supposed to do, run away from their families when they're five or six years old?
BTW, I never said I agreed with the Act as written, but something's got to be done other than this ridiculously inane notion of deporting tens of millions of people - which will never happen.

The children of course should return home with their parents.
We can't say deportation wouldn't work because it hasn't been tried. There has been no real attempt to deport a single one of them. It wasn't difficult for them to come here in trunks of cars, train boxcars, boat ride, or a short hike through the desert - how can it be so difficult for the reverse trip?
Making them all legal and handing US citizenship on a silver platter to all those who break our laws, completely ignore the fact that others are patiently waiting for their turn while these lawbreakers expect to be given citizenship before them are not the only options.
If anything leave them illegal. Let their kids pick lettuce and clean toilets which we're constantly told is the reason they break our laws to come here - then we wouldn't need the steady flood of illegals coming over the border, we'd keep the ones already here doing those cheap labor jobs we supposedly don't want to do. They sure don't need to be sitting around in Harvard while Americans face huge unemployment.
