Illegal immigrants can only get driver’s licenses in three states: New Mexico, Utah and Washington. As other states crack down on illegal immigration, the three states are reportedly receiving higher numbers of illegal immigrant applicants for driver’s licenses — either because more undocumented people are moving to the states or because they are visiting to get a license they can take back to where they live.
This has to be the dumbest statement Ive read in a long time. This "reporter" thinks that the number of Illegal" aliens is increasing in American when every credible source[Census,DHS,Pew] have the numbers decreasing since 2008; or because aliens want DLs to take back home...back home to do what?

The objective in New Mexico was to make it easier for police to identify drivers and also to reduce the number of drivers without insurance. Unfortunately the numbers do not show a noticeable decrease in uninsured drivers. The new governor says she will stop issuing DL's to illegals.
I don't buy the drivers' license tourism argument.
The way I read the article the reporter states that due to some states cracking down on illegals, that states who are less strict are seeing an increase in their population of illegals. I didn't see where the reporter thought that the USA as a whole was seeing an increase.
The reporter is correct in his assumption. Illegals do flee to less strict states.
Wa state has had an INCREASE of 20% of DL applicants signing affadavits because they have NO SSN since they dropped the proof of residency requirements, which is why they have reinstated that requirement.
States that issue driver’s licenses to illegals are like moths to a flame. They were coming to MD from every state on the East Coast until we ended this nonsense.

Actually, what I interpreted that statement to mean is that those who are already here are migrating to the stated that allow licenses rather than thew new illegals heading for those states.

Did you even read the bit of the article that you quoted? It says the 3 states have seen an increase of applications BECAUSE they relaxed their applications. And with the crackdown starting to come full circle, they need driver's licenses to appear more legit.

And now they moved to Delaware and where I live. I haven't been to Delaware in 2 years and I can't believe how much the Mexican presence has grown in south Delaware and there are still remnants of Mexicans in the Eastern Shore as well.
